To satisfy current building regulations all occupied rooms without opening windows or other means of ventilation should be mechanically ventilated for the anticipated number of occupants. Current regulations state that 10 litres/sec per person of outside air must be provided. The most energy efficient way of providing ventilation while minimizing the impact on the cooling and heating loads is to use of a Heat Recover Ventilation (HRV) type system.
